The Champaign County Farm Bureau Marketing Club is kicking off 2017 by bringing a new look to the Club. Traditionally, the Marketing Club has met on the first Monday of every month, excluding May and October. The new proposed schedule will offer seven meetings, three being marketing meetings with a marketing analyst followed by a second speaker covering different agricultural topics which will include crop insur-ance, weather outlook, agronomy updates and insurance policy review. The Marketing Club will continue to host a meeting before the Champaign County Farm Bureau County Annual Meeting and hold two WILL Outlook meetings (spring and fall). The three regular meetings will start at 6:00 PM with supper and end at 7:30PM. The last meeting of the year will be in November with a review of farm insurance policies.
Different speakers every month provide club members with amazing opportuni-ties to talk to strategists. The upcoming year may be challenging, the markets don’t al-ways increase because of a good yielding crop year. We must be defensive and learn to protect ourselves by continuing our education.
2017 marks a new crop year which means it is an opportunity for you to look ahead at future challenges that we will face. Although we can’t control the weather, the Marketing Club can certainly provide the necessary tools to overcome these challenges in the upcoming growing season.
