The Champaign County Farm Bureau Young Ag Leaders are dedicated to improving the economic well-being of agriculture and enriching the quality of farm family life for the next generation of agriculturalists. Any Farm Bureau members between the ages of 18-35 are welcome to join this committee.
The CCFB Young Ag Leaders complete projects that empower new farmers with management tools to grow their operation; connect with consumers and leave a positive impression of our industry; network with 4-Her's and FFA chapters in our county to build a strong alliance; educate children about the source of their food and fiber; and promote awareness in the areas of leadership, marketing, and technology as we grow safe food.
Recent projects include Farm Forum, Collegiate Young Ag Leaders, Farm Tour and Young Ag Leader Exchange, FFA Aquaintance Day, Toy Show, Chicago Adopted Classroom, The Learning Barn, and Healthy Food Initiative.
YAL members develop a plan of work that is approved by the board of directors. Projects reflect personal passions and needs within the community and county. Throughout the year, plans are evaluated and adjusted by the entire committee for effectiveness.
Young Ag Leaders meet on the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the CCFB Auditorium unless otherwise noted. Several special events occur throughout the year!
